Management trainee program

The Brainchild management trainee program has been formulated by the in-house industry experts and tempered by the structured training of the Starcom Mediavest Group.

The complete program is a 90-day exhaustive training period for the new inductee. From answering questions about group policy on all matters to inducting the new-comers in the art and science of media investment management, this is a comprehensive course.

For many of our management trainees, this initial training is the most grueling yet perspective-altering. Of those that start this program, approximately 80 percent complete it. The Brainchild management trainee program is thus a highly effective tool to filter out under-motivated candidates and build the skills of the high-priority talent up to Brainchild standards.

Days 1-7 “Getting Settled”

This period is to familiarize the new recruits with the channels of communication within the Group. Introductions are made, demos are given and IDs assigned. Once this period is completed, the recruits are independently able to access company databases, address books, and use their official email and network IDs. They are now also comfortable enough to ask for assistance where needed. Personnel in all functions in the Group are now familiar to them.

Days 8-30 “Discovery”

Management trainees are assigned mentors who are responsible for introducing the MTs to the basics of all functions are the best practices in each. During this time, the regimented “Media 101” trainings begin. These trainings are the bases of the skill-set that make each team member a valuable resource.

Days 31-60 “Finding your track”

By this time, the management trainees are 30 days into the intensive program. This next phase is when the tests begin. Real-life case studies are given to groups of MTs to solve within time constraints. Trainees are briefed on various clients and gradually introduced to each client’s working styles and corporate objectives.

Days 61-90 “Becoming a Proactive Contributor”

By the end of the first two months in the program, the MTs are well-versed in the basics of media science and tools, client management, and team work. This last phase is the most grueling, with management trainees working on real-life assignments under tight deadlines. In this phase, the mentors provide coaching to the management trainees on the finer points of media investment management. As the 90 days of comprehensive training come to an end, the management trainees are taken to a final level of tests to ensure that they are sufficiently qualified to begin their professional journey.

Beyond the 90 days

Training does not stop after the initial 90 days of the Management Trainee Program. It continues in real conditions supported by the experience and expertise of the Brainchild team. Alumni of this program are highly sought-after in the industry, locally and globally.
